A bit of background...The McIntosh Run is a river that flows from Long Lake to Herring Cove. The new McIntosh Run Community Trail follows the river in Spryfield and was built in 2009 by the McIntosh Run Watershed Association with grants from HRM and the Provincial Government. The trail is flat with a packed crusher dust surface and it is stroller, bicycle and wheelchair-friendly. Leashed dogs are permitted! The first 1.2 km of trail was completed in 2009, with an additional 1.5 km to be completed in 2010.

See the trail map showing the completed 1st phase and the intended future phases of the trail system.

It was a most excellent day — see the photos.
